You will love this easy buffalo chicken pasta salad for picnics, potlucks, and parties. The ranch dressing makes it extra tasty!
This is one of my favorite pasta salad recipes. It is delicious warm or cold, and stores great in the refrigerator.
A great way to use leftover boneless wings!
Ingredients You'll Need For This Recipe:
*Note: We may receive a commission at no extra cost to you.
- Boneless Buffalo Chicken Wings - about 8 wings or ½ a pound
- Rotini Pasta - 3 cups cooked
- Bacon - 6-8 slices
- Ranch Dressing - ½ cup
- Cherry Tomatoes - 1 cup
Preparing the Ingredients:
Begin by cooking the pasta until it is al dente and drain.
Cook the bacon until nice and crispy then break into bite-sized pieces.
If you are using frozen boneless chicken wings, you will need to bake those according to the package directions.
Once cooked, cut each of the boneless wings into bite-sized pieces.
Making the Salad:
Add cooked pasta, buffalo wing bites, bacon pieces, and cherry tomatoes to a large bowl.
Pour the dressing into the bowl and toss everything together until it is all evenly coated.
Then you have a delicious salad ready to serve. Make it as a side dish or as a meal!
Recipe Variations
The best part of this recipe is you can customize it to how you like your wings!
- Chicken: The recipe is so simple that it will work with any kind of boneless chicken pieces, breaded or non-breaded. You can also choose your flavor like mild, spicy, or sweet like General Tso's.
- Pasta: For some reason in my head I think pasta salads have to be made with spiral pasta, but that isn't really a rule. Get creative, or just use what you have.
- Dressing: I am not a fan of blue cheese but I know it is a popular option when eating buffalo wings. If you prefer bleu cheese dressing then you can absolutely swap it with the ranch dressing.
- Hot Sauce: Do you want your pasta salad a little extra spicy? Simply add your favorite wing sauce or buffalo sauce to spice it up!
- Cheese: I don't have cheese included in this recipe, but cheese makes everything better. Again, just go with what you have on hand. I have added shredded cheddar and it was delicious, but any shredded cheese would be delicious.
- Gluten-Free: To make this gluten-free be sure to use your favorite gluten-free pasta, and skip the breaded chicken.
Can you make it ahead of time?
I love make-ahead recipes. This buffalo chicken pasta salad recipe can easily be made ahead of time and then stored in a sealed container in the fridge for up 2 3 days.
Our Baking Essential List:
- For baking casseroles, we use Glass Baking Dishes. I especially like the dishes with lids so leftovers can be transferred straight to the fridge.
- Silicone Kitchenware is my favorite because they don't scratch my cookware and is easy to clean!
- A Glass Cutting Board is a must to prepare all of those ingredients. We even keep ours on our counter at all times.
- This Knife Set will also become your favorite! They cut beautifully, and with the hollow design of the knife, food doesn't stick to the blade.
