Looking for a handmade thank you card idea? Check out this simple idea for making the perfect handmade card.
Saying thank you is huge!
It doesn't matter if it is for a gift that you received, or if it is to the person who is holding the door open for you.
Saying thank you and showing some gratitude is a way of telling someone that you appreciate them.
While saying it with your mouth is always appreciated, it can also be fun to write it down and give the person a heartfelt message in a thank you card.
The best part of this card design is that you can use up your paper scraps to make it!

- Pink Cards with Matching Envelopes
- White Cardstock
- Patterened Paper
- Corner Rounder
- Paper Trimmer
- Black Ink Pad
- Sticker Letters
- Black Ribbon
- Double Sided Tape
Instructions:
The pink cards I used are 4.5 x 5.5 inches, so I cut my white paper 4 x 5 inches. Making the white cardstock just a little bit smaller than the front of the pink card.
Cut 4 strips of patterned paper that measure 1 x 3.25 inches.
Round the bottom edge of each of the patterned pieces using a corner rounder punch.
Put one bottom corner in the punch, and then turn the paper over and punch the other corner. This will round the bottom edge of the paper strips.
Ink the edges of all of the papers. This really helps all of the elements of the card stand out.
I used double-sided tape as my adhesive, but feel free to use whatever you have on hand.
Using the double-sided tape, adhere the strips of patterned paper to the white cardstock.
Then apply the sticker letters onto the cards spelling out "Thanks".
Tie the black ribbon onto the front of your card, across the patterned paper strips, tying a double knot to secure it in place.
Attach the white cardstock to the pink card with the double-sided tape, and you are done!
On the inside is a blank card so you can write a handwritten message.
They really are easy to make, and look super cute!
Whenever I make cards I tend to make more than 1 so I can have a couple on hand when I need them.
I love how these turned out, and I'm sitting here wondering who all I could tell thank you to so I could give them this fun DIY card!

Card-making is seriously a DYING art, but I LOVE them. People do everything by facebook, email, etc, but I'm the same was as you - I love to make cards and I quickly forget how much fun it is. Thanks for getting me thinking again!!

Thanks Kaylynn! I know - I used to make cards all of the time and then somewhere stopped. It felt good making cards again and writing little notes to friends!
