America Banner

In my American Banner post below I do share some links on where I got the paper kit and some Amazon Affiliate links to products.  This is not a sponsored post but just a project I really loved making!

I am so excited to share this America Banner with you today!!  In April I went to Snap Conference and while I was there I took a few craft classes.  This America Banner class was one of them.  I didn’t finish it in class because I was too busy talking and networking but it was something I thought was so cute that I knew I had to finish it.  So I got it done just in time for the 4th of July!

The America Banner kit I received was from Pebbles in my Pocket  and they have all kinds of kits available that are ready to make.  This is not a sponsored post – I am just mentioning it in case you like getting projects all prepped and ready for you to create.  Everything was included in the kit except for the tape and glue.

America Banner Kit

I followed the instructions to  fold the papers accordian style (the  papers came prescored in the kit)

America Banner

The papers came with circles punched on one end – at this point you want to work with the opposite end.  Pinch the papers together in the middle, add a strip of tacky tape down one side and secure the top two ends together.

Now using your glue gun,  glue the doily onto the front and back as shown in the picture.

In the kit is a second set of papers that are scallop half circles.  These have been prescored to show you where to fold them. It folds just enough to sit over the top and down the front on the doily.  I used the hot glue gun to secure this in place as well.

Next add the letters that spell out America – I adhered these with glue dots.

America Banner

Remember earlier I mentioned the small circles punched into the papers.  Well these will be at the top now -on each side.  Run the string through each of your half circles spelling out America.  This makes quite a big banner.  I am planning on putting it over my dessert/snack table at my big firework show in July.  For now I asked my kids to hold it up so you can see how big it is.

America Banner

I can’t wait to decorate my table with it!!

I love this American garland! This is just beautiful! I missed this for the Fourth of July this year, but I have bookmarked it for next year! I am also wondering what papers I could use to make this for a Christmas garland. Thanks for sharing!
