Can you believe that Easter is only about 2 and a half weeks away? I have been having such fun decorating for Easter and putting up fun things around our home to help make it feel more like Spring (since the weather is still making me think we are in Winter). Easter happens the same time as our kids Spring Break so I knew I would not be able to shop for their Easter Baskets with them at home. So last week I went and bought most everything I needed – and I am just loving how these baskets turned out! So today I am excited to share with you some of the decorations in my home and hopefully give you some fun Easter basket ideas.
Easter Baskets
In our home Easter baskets are not all the same. My kids are different ages and like completely different things. I want something that fits them and their personality. Also I like to give them a little candy, but not a ton. This is because every year we go to their Grandma’s for an Easter egg hunt and they get a ton of candy. So in their baskets I get to focus on a few more fun items geared towards their likes.
The Easter basket selection at World Market is really so cute. For Adison’s basket I used this basket, added some green “grass” and since Adison is still younger and into all things Easter Bunny I knew she would love a stuffed bunny. Plus she loves coloring and writing – so I got her some coloring pencils and fun pens. Then I added a chocolate bunny – The chocolate bunny is my kids favorite thing in their Easter baskets. They look forward to the chocolate bunny every year!
I just love the Easter basket that I made for her – so cute and something I know she will love and use.
For the boys who are older I made them a “popcorn” basket. They love to make themselves popcorn when they watch movies or play video games for with their friends. So I thought it would be such a fun idea to use a popcorn bowl as their basket. I filled it with some popcorn, treats and things I knew they would like. For Kayden I got him a Dragonfly Kite and for Carson I got him some headphones.
As you can tell we don’t go too over the top for Easter baskets. We have so many family activities along with getting Easter baskets that my kids always have more than enough sweets by the time Easter is over.
Easter Decor Ideas
When decorating I like to bring touches of Spring and Easter throughout the home. One way I do this is changing out my couch pillows throughout the year. I like my couch but it can get a little boring
World Market has so many pillows to choose from and I really love the color of these.
I really like these pillows and the different colors they come in. The little pillow that says Easter is one that my mom made me – so it is really special to me and matches the colors perfectly.
I have a shelf in my front room that I decorate for each holiday.
I love my Spring blocks and bunny but I just love the pop of color from the chicks and carrots – and that lamb! Oh my goodness I think he is adorable!

Love your Spring mantle and your kids Easter baskets. I love getting giving baskets or a cool popcorn bowl that they will use instead of the cheap easter baskets that end up in the trash. Great ideas!!
