When going out to eat my family will often visit and Italian restaurant because we love Italian dishes. I will often get Chicken Parmesan. I love everything about it – pasta, delicious chicken and flavorful sauce. However, we don’t get to go out to eat as often as we would like. If you are like us you are busy and running a million directions to different activities for the kids almost everynight. I try to recreate dishes I love at home but make them simpler to go along with our busy life. Having a simple dish leaves time to spend with the kids and hearing about all of the great stuff happening in their lives. So I have a simple and easy Chicken Parmesan dish I make at home that I am going to share with you today.
On the Bertolli website there are 150 different tips. I used a couple of their tips for my recipe. I used Tip#29, 39 and 42 which are all about pasta. They also have a Chicken Parmesan recipe that inspired this recipe – it is tip#81 on the Bertolli website. I want to go back and read through all of their tips and ideas because there are some really good ones!
Easy Chicken Parmesan
To make this you will need your favorite pasta (I like to change it up with different pastas), your favorite breaded chicken, some parmesan cheese and your favorite pasta sauce. Today I am using Bertolli Riserva Marinara with Parmigiano-Reggiano. I thought that would be the perfect flavor for Chicken Parmesan. Right now you can grab a coupon for $1.50 on Bertolli Pasta Sauces.
Here are all the differnt kinds of Bertolli Riserva sauces available (I want to try them all):
- Bertolli® Riserva Marinara with Parmigiano-Reggiano
- Bertolli® Riserva Porcini Mushrooms & White Truffle Oil
- Bertolli® Riserva Asiago Cheese & Artichokes
- Bertolli® Riserva Balsamic Vinegar & Caramelized Onions
So let’s get cooking! I start by first cooking the breaded chicken in the oven according to the package insturctions. This usually takes the longest so I start with it. Then I start the noodles cooking (according to the package instructions) and heat up my Bertolli sauce.
Once everything is ready is is so easy to put together. First add your noodles and then top with the chicken
Then pour over you sauce. Oh so simple!
Add some grated parmesan cheese on top and serve with a nice salad and you have the perfect dinner!
Francesco Bertolli began selling his olive oil more than 150 years ago in a small town called Lucca, Italy. In 1865 he opened a small storefront selling regional foods like olives, wine, olive oil and cheeses. In the 1800’s Italian immigrants in the United States were unable to find the products that they were used to eating in Italy. They wrote to Bertolli asking him to ship over olive oil. Bertolli began doing this and became the first exporter of olive oil. Bertoli has grown to now include a wide range of sauces and skillet meals. Today (more than 150 years later) Bertolli’s original “Villa Bertolli” at piazza S. Donato still stands. Today Bertolli inspires Italian cuisine in millions of homes around the world.
