I thought it would be fun to have a little Pizza Party with the kids after their first week of school. It was a good first week of school even though one of the kids had some rough emotional moments about going to a new school (Adison misses her friends from her old school). I wanted to do something fun with them, but something that would be easy to throw together for this busy mom! #MyGoodLife
For the pizza party I ran to Walmart and bought a few items to decorate with and for our food I bought DIGIORNO® Design A Pizza™ Kit (hero pepperoni, peppers & onion) AND NESTLÉ® DRUMSTICK® LIL’ DRUMS™ Cones. 12 ct. (hero vanilla with fudge sauce).
Since it was a Pizza Party I thought it would be fun to go with a bit of an Italian theme. I used the colors green, red and white and created an italian flag out of tablecloths for the the table.
The plates, cups, straws, etc. were also in green, red and white.
I made a simple banner for the wall to say Pizza Party. To do this I used my die cut machine and cut out the letters in black, and cut out some triangles in white and then some slightly smaller triangles in red. I glued these all together and then ran a string along the back (taping the string on the back of each triangle). In between each triangle I tied a piece of green ribbon.
Simple, easy and cute!
While at the store I grabbed some adhesive mustaches and since we were being Italian for the night we all go to wear one. The kids had a lot of fun wearing them
kayden had fun with his mustache
I wasn’t sure if Carson would play along (teenagers!) but he had fun with us – and told Kayden this is not what a real mustache feels like. He then tried to explain in his 16 year old wisdom what a real mustache feels like. That had me cracking up a bit.
Adison got a little irritated that Kayden kept jumping in on her picture time
For our Pizza I used the Digorno Design a Pizza Kit. We all loved that the toppings came seperate and the kids could put what they want on their pizza. This great if you have picky kids.
So I put all the toppings in little cups and the pizzas on cookie sheets and gave each kid half a pizza to design. They had a lot of fun with this!
While the pizzas were cooking in the oven I thought it would be fun to play a little game. Since we were having Nestle Lil Drums for dessert I thought it would be fun to make some cones out of paper and then have the kids play a balloon game. The balloon being the “icecream”. You don’t want the icecream to hit the ground so the kids had to toss it around with their cone. The rule is you can’t touch it twice in a row so the kids were running all over the place.
The kids worked up an appetite and were ready to enjoy some pizza
Yum! The kids want to get to eating their pizza but I told them I need a few pictures
This is what happens when you tell them to pose for the camera – not helpful!
After they were able to enjoy their Nestle Lil Drums for dessert. These were a big hit and I earned bonus mom points – easy peasy!
Overall it was a fun party that we all enjoyed and was easy to put together. Life is good!!
