This Pretzel Crusted Tilapia dinner is one of those meals I can make in 30 minutes that has both me and my family happy. I love that it doesn’t take too long and that they are getting some good servings of fish and vegetables. The family just loves how good this tastes and especially loves how fast it is to get on the dinner table!
We just love fish and often order it when we go out to eat but honestly I have always been a bit nervous making it on my own. The ingredients used in this recipe are so simple and easy that it is my go to dish when the family is asking for fish for dinner.
Pretzel Crusted Tilapia with Roasted Potatoes and Asparagus
- Gorton’s Pretzel Crusted Tilapia Filets
- about 1 lb. Red Potatoes – washed and quartered
- Asparagus (about 3-4 spears per person)
- Olive Oil
- Seasonings – I like Mrs. Dash® Original Seasoning and also Salt & Pepper
Dipping Sauce Ingredients:
- 2 tsp. Mrs. Dash® Original Seasoning
- 1/4 cup KRAFT Mayo or KRAFT Miracle Whip
I like to make the dipping sauce first so the flavors can start mingling. We only have 3 people in my family who enjoy dipping sauce so this was perfect. If you need more/less this recipe is easily doubled/halfed. Combine the seasoning and mayo together. Mix until blended. I like to place in individual serving cups. Place cups in fridge until I need them. This dipping sauce is great with the fish I am making tonight as well as fish sticks.
Preheat your oven to 425°F. I don’t want to make too much of a messy kitchen so my goal is to cook the entire meal on one baking sheet. The potatoes will go on half of the sheet and the fish and asparagus will share the other half. Line the baking sheet with aluminum foil for even easier clean up!
Place the potatoes on the baking sheet and drizzle with a tablespoon of olive oil and mix until everything is coated. Sprinkle on 1/2 a tablespoon of Mrs. Dash and mix until everything is coated. Place the potatoes in the oven for 7 minutes and let bake.
After the potatoes have cooked for 7 minutes remove the baking sheet from the oven and stir the potatoes. Next add the uncooked pretzel crusted tilapia fillets onto the baking sheet. The Gorton’s Pretzel Crusted Tilapia Fillets are white and flaky. They are coated in crushed pretzels and a touch of onion and honey for a crunchy delicious taste that my family just loves!
Return the baking sheet to the oven. The fish will bake uncovered for a total of 21–23 minutes or until coating is golden brown. However, you will want to turn the fillets after 15 min. This is when I add the asparagus to the pan.
To prep the asparagus you want to wash them and snap off the ends. Drizzle them with about 1/2 a tablespoon of olive oil and season with salt and pepper. So after 15 minutes when it is time to flip the fish you will want to add the asparagus. Also take a moment to stir the potatoes again. Let everything continue to cook for another 8 minutes. So the potatoes would have cooked a total of 30 minutes, the fish a total of 23 minutes and the asparagas a total of 8 minutes – hope these timings didn’t sound confusing 🙂
Everything will be nice and hot and ready all at the same time. Serve immediatley with the dipping sauce. Your family will love this meal and you will just love how easy it was to prepare!
