Did you know that February is Heart Healthy month? I think that goes along perfect with Valentine’s Day! So in honor of Heart Healthy month I joined up with a group of my blog friends to share some healthier recipes to keep your heart healthy! I am so excited to share my simple recipe for Raspberry Angel Dessert!
Raspberry Angel Dessert
This recipe has 3 simple ingredients – Angel Food cake, Raspberries and Whipped Cream. Yes there is some sugar but not as much as you would find in some other desserts this time of year. Angel food cake is fat free – so that is better than regular cake. With some delicious berries and fat free Cool whip you have a delicious dessert a little bit on the lighter side. Or if you are okay with a bit of sugar then have a Tablespoon of Cool Whip (only 25 calories).
To make this dessert really fun I cut the angel food cake into hearts.
Then I mashed up the raspberries to make a little sauce. You can add a little sugar if you like – like in my strawberry sauce recipe – but if your berries are sweet enough you don’t need the sugar.
Top with the cool whip/whipped cream and enjoy!
This quick and easy dessert is perfect for any time, but especially great for Valentine’s Day!
Now that you’ve seen my heart-healthy, heart-shaped yummy, why don’t you take a look at what the others are sharing…
