Star Christmas Ornaments

This post may contain affiliate links. Read my discolsure police here.

I can’t wait to share my Star Christmas Ornaments with you today.  Putting ornaments on the Christmas Tree is a family tradition my family does together each year.  We put on some fun Christmas music and as a family we add ornaments to the tree.  Once it is all decorated and lit up, we cozy up around the tree and watch a good Christmas movie.  Each year I try to make something new to put on the tree.  This year I have made up these Star Christmas Ornamnets. This is a simple craft that you could make in no time at all.  A fun idea would be to let each of your kids decorate their own star.

Star Ornaments

I joined some bloggers to create 30+ handmade Christmas Ornaments.  There are so many cute ideas to look at.

Handmade Christms Ornaments Blog Hop (1)

Star Christmas Ornaments

Supplies Needed:

  • Christmas Themed Scrapbook Paper – Use a thick sturdy scrapbook paper
  • Buttons
  • Butchers Twine
  • Adhesive/Tape
  • Christmas stickers or decorative papers – I used My Minds Eye Sleigh Bells Ring Mixed Bag Cardstock Die Cuts

Christmas Ornaments Supplies

Using my cricut I cut out 4 inch stars from the scrapbook paper.  You could easily handcut these if you don’t have a cricut.

Christmas Ornaments stars

Using twine, buttons and paper diecut pieces (or stickers) start decorating your stars.

Christmas Ornaments pieces

I inked the edges of the papers with black and red ink – I love adding ink to my paper pieces.  I really like how these turned out.

HI there you’ve been a very busy gal also. So many fantastic Christmas ideas on blog land. Wow, you gals are inspiring me so much. I love your stars. Going to make a bunch using watercolor paper so they’ll be heavy enuf to stand up to handling. You made them so cute with embellishments you added. They caught my eye right away.
Will be fairly quick project and have lots to sell if I’m let into the craft show on 12/13. Just found out about it on Sunday or Monday. It’s a juried show so have to have photos, application and money for city license and show by 11/30. After hubs and I work so hard trying to get some holiday items made, we sure hope we get in. Haven’t been in a show for long time. Most of craft shows here want too much for entry.
Happy weekend and hope your holidays are wonderful.

These are darling- I love handmade ornaments. Back when I was a scrooge (pre-kids) I couldn’t imagine putting their pre-school creations on my tree…now of course they’re my favorite things. And now I like putting my own handmade stuff up too! Thanks for linking this up at Found & Foraged. 🙂 xo, Laura

So pretty! Pinning so I can add to my extensive list of ornaments to make for next year. I think I may have to keep at it all year, lol.
