You’ve Been BOO’d Neighbor Treat Bag

Does your neighborhood BOO each other?  I think this is such a fun tradition to do with your neighbors, friends and family.  You share a bag full of goodies and treats with a neighbor and that person pays it forward by BOO’ing another person in the neighorhood.  When you have been BOO’d you put a sign up on your door or window so everyone knows who else needs to be BOO’d.  The kids really get a kick out of this when helping create the goodie bag and especially dropping it off at the neighbors home.

This year I made a cute Frankenstein bag along with a BOO! banner to include in the goodie bag.  I am sharing both tutorials today so be sure to check them both out!

You’ve Been BOO’ed Neighbor Treat Bag

To create a fun bag full of goodies for your neighbor you will need a few things.  You will need to print out the BOO Cards.   The BOO cards are two pages.  The first one is for the person to hang on their door or window to let others know they have been BOO’d.  The second one is for you to sign and include with your gift.

Grab the BOO Sign and card.  Simply download it and print.  You can print it from your computer or if you don’t have a color printer put the file on flash drive and your office supply store can print it out for you.

  1. Cut out this “We’ve been BOO’d sign.
  2. Fold the “You’ve been BOO’d” greeting card (page 2) and tape openings together.
  3. Include the card and sign when gifting BOO bundles.

Next you will need a cute bag or container.  Check out my tutorial below for how I made my Frankenstein bag.

Frankenstein Bag from summerscraps.com

The bag I am giving my neighbor is a treat/movie night bag.  It is full of treats, soda, cute cups, straws, a favorite movie and popcorn!

I included my favorite treats from the Mars Chocolate Mix Fun Size Bag and added the 7UP® and Sunkist® Mini Cans.  I think they are so cute with the little Halloween Monsters on them.

I put all of the soda cans, cups, movie, popcorn, etc in the bag and then topped it off with a bag full of candy!

I also included a little BOO! banner for my friend.  I love little things like that so I thought she might as well.

So let me show you how easy the bag and banner are to make!

Frankenstein Bag

Supplies Needed:

  • Green Bag
  • cardstock paper (black, white and purple)
  • Scissors
  • Circle punch if you have them (2 inches and 1 3/4 inches) or hand cut the circles
  • black ink (optional)
  • Adhesive
  • 2 black buttons
  • Black marker

I first cut out a black strip of paper that was 1 3/4 inches wide and about as long as the bag.  On this strip I freehand cut some little snips along the bottom to create Frankensteins hair. Adhere to the bag.

For his eyes I cut out two white circles (2 inches diameter) and two purple circles (1 3/4 inches diameter).  I inked the edges with black ink and then adhered them to the bag.

I also cut out a 2 inch black circle and then cut that in half and added it to the side of the bag for Frankenstiens neck bolts. I added the black buttons to the eyes and with a black marker I drew on his mouth along with a few stitches.  I just LOVE how it looks!

BOO! Banner

Supplies Needed:

  • Cardstock (green and black)
  • String
  • Scissors
  • Adhesive
  • Letters that Spell out Boo!  I used some extra stickers I had around my home.  You could use stickers, rubons, vinyl or even handwrite the letters.

I cut 4 green squares to 4×3 inches.  I also cut 4 black strips of paper at 3/4 x 3 inches. Then like with the hair on the Frankenstein bag I cut the black strips.  I also figured out the midpoint  for each of the green squares and marked it.

With scissors I cut from the corner to the point that I marked.  I did this on each side so I had a nice even triangle banner.

Adhere the black strips onto the banner and then add your letters to spell out Boo!

punch a hole in each corner then run your string through the banner – see how cute and easy that was to make?

Put it all together and you have a fun BOO Bag that your neighbors are sure to love!

I was able to grab the Mars Chocolate Mix Fun Size Bag at a display at the front of my Walmart and the 7UP® and Sunkist® Halloween Cans were in the Soda Pop aisle.
