Rice Krispie Smores

This post may contain affiliate links. Read my discolsure police here.

I have been seeing Smores recipes all over the place lately so it is no suprise that today is National Smores Day.  Today I am sharing a twist on the traditional Smores idea and sharing a bunch of other Smores ideas.  There is sure to be many Smore recipes you are sure to love.  Be sure to try one or two out before the Summer is over!

Rice Krispie Smores

Ingredients Needed:

  • 40 Regular Sized Marshmallows
  • 3 Tbsp Butter
  • 6 Cups Krispie Cereal
  • 1 Bag of Chocolate Chips
  • 1 Celophane bag of Graham Crackers, crushed

In a large microwave safe bowl melt the butter.  Add the Marshmallows to the bowl and toss until they are all coated with butter.  Place in the microwave for 45 seconds, stir and repeat.  After the second 45 seconds add in the Krispie cereal and stir.  Once everything is nice and mixed press into a 13×9 inch pan. I first covered my pan with tinfoil so it will be easy to remove once the Rice Krispie Smores are ready.

I melted the chocolate chips in another microwave safe bowl. I cook for 30 seconds stir and repeat until they are melted.  This took about 3 times in the microwave at 30 seconds each.  Once the chocolate is melted spread it over the marshmallow krispies.  It won’t be a super thick layer, but it is enough.

Sprinkle your  crushed graham crackers over the chocolate while it is still melted.  To crush the grahams I simple placed them in a large ziploc baggie – crushed a little bit with my fingers and then used a rolling pin.  It is quick and effective.  Once you have sprinkled the crushed grahams all over the chocolate press them into the chocolate a bit with your fingers.

Let this cool for several hours or place into the fridge for a quicker cool down.  Once the chocolate has hardened cut into squares and serve!

This recipe seriously takes less than 10 minutes to make and is the perfect treat for when you are craving a smore.  I just love the taste of all of the ingredients together.
